The Loantaka Brook Reservation is a linear, paved Trail, that travels North-South through the park and consists of several Trail Spurs. The Yellow Trail is located in the Northern Section of the park, while the Blue Trail travels through the Central Section and the Red Trail is located along the Southern Section. Parts of this trail follow Loantaka Brook, which also travels North-South through park. There are recreation areas with sports fields, picnic areas, playgrounds, horseback riding, fishing and hiking trails. Loantaka Brook Reservation bears a name given by the Lenni Lenapes, which means ‘the place of cold winter.’ During the Revolutionary War, an encampment that housed approximately 2,000 soldiers was located on a portion of what is now Reservation property during the winter of 1776-1777. This took place an entire year prior to the more famous Jockey Hollow encampment. Use the Koloni App to rent a bike through the Morris Moves Bike Share Program.
