Length:                 Bloomsburg Rail Trail; 1.6 miles.

Difficulty:             Easy. Flat, stone-dust/hard packed gravel rail trail with some low traffic on-road sections.

Directions:     

From I-80 take exit 232 to Route 42 south to Route 11 north.      

To Start from Fernville Family Park [Southern End]; Continue 0.9 miles along Route 11 to downtown. Turn left on Railroad St. Pass by the trailhead on your right just before crossing over Fishing Creek. Parking area on your right.

To Start from the Irondale Ave parking lot [Southern Section]; Take your first right on Iron St and travel less then 1/2 a mile. Turn left onto Irondale Ave and follow straight. When it turns right back towards Iron St continue straight to a parking area. This is the center of the trail.

The Bloomsburg Rail Trail follows an old rail bed North-South, alongside Fishing Creek, through BloomsburgFor more information visit; BLOOMSBURG RAIL TRAIL .

Starting from Fernville Family Park [Southern End]; Playground & picnic pavilion located here. Exit the park and travel left, South, across the bridge over Fishing Creek. The stone-dust Bloomsburg Rail Trail begins on your left, traveling Northeast, between a steep ridge along your right and Fishing Creek to your left. Very scenic. The trail turns North, as you come to Irondale Ave at 0.5 miles. Continue on-road, along Irondale Ave for 0.3 miles (low traffic). When the road turns right, continue straight thru the Irondale Ave parking lot, where you'll pick up the rail trail again at 1 mile. Here the trail consists of stone-dust & gravel. You briefly come back alongside Fishing Creek, which appears to be used as a local swimming hole. The trail ends after 1.6 miles, just shy of Millville Rd.
