Length:                 Biddeford-Saco Riverwalk; 0.9 miles (1.4 mile Loop)

Difficulty:             Easy. Paved trail with some slight hills 

Directions:     

To Start from the Saco Transportation Center [Northern End]; From I-95 take exit 36 to I-195. Take exit 2A to route 1 south. After 0.8 miles continue straight on Main St. After crossing the river & RR tracks turn right on Gooch St. The parking lots are on your right. To reach the trailhead head right along Gooch St to a set of stairs on your left. This short set of stairs bring you up to the trail (You can avoid the stairs by traveling through the Saco Mill #4 parking lot).     

The Biddeford-Saco Riverwalk connects the two town Riverwalk's of Biddeford and Saco via a pedestrian bridge over the Saco River. Starting from the Saco Transportation Center [Northern End]; To reach the trailhead head West, along Gooch St to a set of stairs on your left. This short set of stairs bring you up to the trail.

Note; You can avoid the stairs by traveling through the Saco Mill #4 parking lot. 

The paved Biddeford-Saco Riverwalk travels South, around the Saco Mill #4 parking lot and above another old brick building on your right. You come down alongside the mill and head right to where the paved trail continues. Blue Riverwalk signs. This brings alongside the Saco River with views of the dam. Informational signs all along the route. The trail heads down around another brick mill building and underneath a *Pedestrian bridge across the river. A brick path continue straight, East, along the river, then up to Main St. Head left, North, up the sidewalk past Saco Mill #3 to Mill Building 110. Head left, where you'll spot another Blue Riverwalk sign. Here a wide pavers path leads you West, past Mill Building 110 and above the parking lot and river below, bringing you to the *Pedestrian bridge over the Saco River. Map Board. Cross the bridge South, to Biddeford. Nice views of the dam and falls. Come to the front of the North Dam Mill (Mill # 18) after 0.7 miles. 

Note; There are several overlooks of the river and dam you can access East, through the Mill complex. There are exhibits inside North Dam Mill (Mill # 18). Also this will take you to Laconia Plaza, a Greek-style amphitheater overlooking the river. I'm not sure if you can reach this site by bike. 

Head left, East, along the wide sidewalk past an old brick chimney and river overlook, before crossing Main St to Mechanics Park. Paved trail leads to a gazebo. Left brings you down to an overlook of the river. Right takes you past some picnic tables to the Water Street parking lot after 0.9 miles

You can Loop back, North, via Main St to the Saco Transportation Center for a 1.4 mile Loop.
