Directions:

To start from Nash's Mill Road parking lot [Northern End]; Take exit 43 off of I-91to Route 2 west (Mohawk Trail). After traveling underneath I-91, take your first right onto Colrain Rd. Travel 1.5 miles to Nashs Mill Rd and head right. Pass by the  Greenfield Recreation Park on your left and the trailhead on your right, before coming to the gravel, Nash's Mill Road parking lot on your right.

Note; During the summer months a fee is required to enter the Greenfield Rec. Park, however, if you continue past the park, just after passing the bike trailhead, a gravel parking area is available for free.

The Riverside Greenway is a multi-use trail that travels South, alongside the Green River to downtown Greenfield. You can also connect Northwest, to the Greenfield Community College Spur. To the East, across the Connecticut River, is another bikeway running from Turners Falls, over the Connecticut River and into DeerfieldSee; Canalside Rail Trail .

Starting from the Nash's Mill Road parking lot [Northern End]; The paved Riverside Greenway starts from the Southern Side of Nash's Mill Rd and travels up to and across the Green River via a green iron bridge. The trail then turns right, South and travels between I-91, up to your left and the Green River below to your right. Travel underneath I-91 and enter the woods. Continuing along the trail, 0.7 miles brings you past an open meadow. If you look left, up the hill, you can see Greenfield County Prison. The trail then comes to Riverside Drive after 1 mile. Head right, on-road (residential) out to Colrain St at 1.1 miles.

Note; Right, Northwest, you can access the Greenfield Community College Spur. A narrow paved trail and BIKE LANE follows Colrain St over the Green River, then up a slight hill and across I-91 to a traffic circle. Cross Colrain Rd, at 0.4 miles, to a paved trail that travels alongside College Dr, which leads to Greenfield Community College at 1.1 miles. Here you can explore this open campus.

The narrow, paved Riverside Greenway continues South, alongside Colrain St before ending after 1.4 miles as you pass Barber Ave.

Note; You can continue on-road (sidewalk available), crossing Solon St, up a slight hill to Main St. Head left, East (Caution, No Crosswalk), on-road up through Greenfield's downtown. Up and coming area. Similar to downtown Northampton. There were yellow "Bee" signs through downtown, that took us past different Bee statues. Come to Miles St on your right at 1.8 miles. Spot a sign for "Energy Park" here. Turn right, South, down this low traffic road and you'll quickly come to Energy Park. Located on the former Boston & Maine Railroad yard, Energy Park, was the home of the Greenfield Train Station that was demolished in the early 1960’s. It contains an old B&M RR Caboose (open for tours during scheduled hours), gardens, bandstand designed to look like a train station and a play structure designed like a train. A stone-dust trail winds around this park to a set of stairs, at 2 miles, that lead down to Bank Row. On both sides of this park are active RR tracks.
