The Hutchinson River Greenway follows the Hutchinson River Parkway and part of the Hutchinson River from Ferry Point Park near the Whitestone Bridge North. It then utilizes part of the Mosholu-Pelham Greenway before continuing North through Pelham Bay Park to the Westchester County line. For more information visit;  HUTCHINSON RIVER GREENWAY .

Hutchinson River Greenway; Southern Section:

Starting from the junction of the Mosholu-Pelham Greenway & Central Section of the Hutchinson River Greenway (Junction of the Bronx & Pelham Pkwy & Hutchinson River Pkwy): The paved Hutchinson River Greenway travels South along the Western side of the Hutchinson River Pkwy. After a mile you'll come to Waters Pl. Turn left and travel up to Westchester Ave.

Note; Left up Westchester Ave will bring you to the NYC Subway's Middletown Road Station. No elevator access so you'll have to carry your bike up or down the stairs.

Cross over Westchester Ave via a cross-light and turn left traveling over the Hutchinson River Pkwy. Turn right and pick up the trail as it continues South along the East Side of the Pkwy. The trail follows alongside an on-ramp out to Bruckner Blvd at 2.1 miles. Heading right you’ll travel back over the Pkwy, then left underneath a big interchange (Cross Bronx Expressway/Bruckner Expressway) to Brush Ave & Bruckner Blvd at 2.4 miles. I haven't checked out this next section. Here you'll follow a BIKE LANE South along Brush Ave to Wenner Pl, past which you follow BIKE SHARROWS to Schley Ave at 3.3 miles. Here you’ll pick up the paved trail as you enter Ferry Point Park. The trail winds through the park passing between a playing field and Hutchinson River Pkwy bringing you to an 1st Intersection. Keep right and follow the trail along the Western Side of the park to a circle and Westchester Creek, a tidal inlet of the East River. Travel South between the river and more sports fields to a 2nd Intersection.

Note; Left, the paved trail travels North, back along the Eastern Side of the park, past the spurs out to Hutchinson River Pkwy parking, returning you to the 1st Intersection.

Continuing South, past more sports fields you'll come to the Ferry Point Park Ferry at 4.2 miles. Nice views of the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge from here. The NY City Ferry Point Park ferry pier located here.

Note; A gravel trail continues South to just below the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge at 4.4 miles. On the other side of this bridge is another paved trail past the Bally's Golf Links at Ferry Point, but I'm not sure if they are or will be connected?

Hutchinson River Greenway; Southern Section:

Starting from the junction of the Mosholu-Pelham Greenway & Central Section of the Hutchinson River Greenway (Junction of the Bronx & Pelham Pkwy & Hutchinson River Pkwy): The paved Hutchinson River Greenway/Mosholu-Pelham Greenway continues East alongside the Bronx & Pelham Pkwy before traveling underneath I-95 and coming to an intersection.

Note; The Mosholu-Pelham Greenway continues straight, East.

Follow the ramp right up to the I-95 pedestrian bridge and travel North, over the Bronx & Pelham Pkwy and RR tracks to Palmer Ave at 1 mile. The trail then heads left alongside Palmer Ave before traveling between the Hutchinson River Pkwy and Hutchinson River Pkwy E. After traveling underneath the Hutchinson River Pkwy the trail turns left along a short ramp which brings you up to the Hutchinson River Pkwy at 1.6 miles. I haven't checked out this next section. Continue left across the Hutchinson River where the trail bears left following an on-ramp. A pedestrian bridge takes you over the Hutchinson River Pkwy then down and across an off-ramp at 2.2 miles. Here the trail crosses over and enters the Thomas Pell Wildlife Sanctuary. Continuing East, you'll cross over some RR tracks and come to Shore Rd and Bartow Circle at 2.6 miles.

Note; Right, South, the paved Shore Road Trail brings you to City Island Rd after 0.4 miles, where you can access the Northern End of the Mosholu-Pelham Greenway , as well as, City Island & Orchard Beach. See; Mosholu-Pelham Greenway .

From Bartow Circle, the paved Hutchinson River Greenway heads left, North, alongside Shore Rd. After 4.1 miles the Hutchinson River Greenway ends at a cul-de-sac on Park Lane in Pelham.
